Central Indiana Supply Chain, Procurement and Supplier Diversity Professionals Honored
September 10, 2019 – Indianapolis, IN. The Second Annual Central Indiana Supply Chain Awards (CISCA), powered by BCforward, has announced that serial entrepreneur Scott A. Jones will be this year’s keynote. The awards will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 8 a.m. at the 502 East Event Centre in Carmel, IN.
A veteran of early-stage entrepreneurship, an inventor, a strategist, and a venture capitalist are a few labels that Jones has earned. In addition, he holds degrees from Indiana University and MIT. He’s founded Boston Technologies, Gracenote, ChaCha, Precise Path Robotics, Powerfile, Escient, Galaxia Lighting, and Eleven Fifty Academy – to name a few. Jones is a quintessential community champion of disruption.
“We are thrilled to have Scott as our keynote speaker. This year’s topic is supply chain and autonomous vehicles. Scott has a wealth of experience with this technology,” said Carolyn E. Mosby, Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council (Mid-States MSDC) President/CEO.
The emcees of the event will be Sunny Lu Williams, President of TechServ Corporation, and Abdul-Hakim Shabazz, attorney with Lewis and Wilkins.
CISCA recognizes the best people, projects, and corporations dedicated to excellence in Supply Chain in Central Indiana. Last year’s winners represented Central Indiana corporations, including Eli Lilly, Cummins, KAR Auction, Anthem, and IUPUI. The event is organized by the Institute for Supply Management – Central Indiana (ISM) and the MidStates MSDC.
Supply Chain management is an essential part of business and those involved in the profession are extremely valuable to corporate America and to the manufacturing, logistics and service industries in our region. CISCA was created to recognize supply chain professionals in Central Indiana who have shown innovation, perseverance, delivery of results and best practices to their businesses and/or organizations.
“The inaugural event in 2018 was a huge success. We felt it important to maintain that momentum and sponsor this event again in 2019,” said Justin Christian, CEO and founder of BCforward, the title sponsor of CISCA. “Many of the companies that will be recognized have truly transformed their businesses while never losing sight of their civic responsibilities by providing jobs and creating programs for diverse organizations. We take pride in supporting organizations like Mid-States MSDC and ISM-Central Indiana because they have demonstrated a commitment to enhancing opportunities for all Hoosiers.”
Supporting sponsors of the event are IndyGo and Falcon Manufacturing. Cummins is an award sponsor and Tellis Executive Search is a special sponsor.
